It’s official: Oregon’s pot business is now the most famous in the country. On April 4, Time Magazine reported that Oregon’s cannabis industry sold nearly 5 million grams— that’s about 11,000 pounds— of weed in the first three months of 2016.
If you care enough to do the math— which someone indeed did on an Oregon subreddit the day after Time’s article came out— you’ll find that Oregon dispensaries sold an average of 122.2 pounds of weed per day in those first three months, and about 5 pounds per hour.
If you contributed to this staggering statistic, be proud! You’re donating to Oregon’s economy, and perhaps fixing that $1.5 billion deficit. Keep on toking.
